A famous architect from Palencia, Jerónimo Arroyo, built the Council Office in 1906 and it was inaugurated on October 19th, 1914.
On the main facade there are many sculptures. On the top of the facade there is an allegory: a woman protecting a couple that is dressed with the traditional costumes from Palencia.
The inside was created by 2 local artists: Eugenio Oliva and Asterio Mañanós. These artists painted murals on the ceiling of the hall and the stairs.
In 1966, the Council Office was destroyed by a fire. Only the paintings on the ceiling and in the lobby were saved.
The assembly hall is decorated with beautiful plasterworks. It has glass artwork by Maumejean from 1912.
